Kylee

Kylee

Veterinary Technician

Kylee has always known she wanted to work with animals, but she wasn’t sure in exactly what capacity. When presented with the opportunity to join The Animal Clinic’s team, she jumped at the chance. Kylee knew immediately this was the right career path for her – not just for the money or because she enjoys interacting with animals, but because she feels strongly that every creature deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Being a voice for the voiceless is Kylee’s true calling in life.

Kylee started her journey right here at The Animal Clinic during her junior year of high school. She is currently enrolled at Auburn and is pursuing her bachelor’s in animal science with pre-vet studies. One of the things Kylee enjoys most about her job is the amount of hands-on experience she receives as a learning student. Clinically, she enjoys assisting with and watching surgeries because she finds it complex and interesting. She also likes interpreting x-rays and ultrasounds.

At home, Kylee lives with her mother and stepfather, their golden retriever named Oakley, and their Maine coon mix, Maui. She also owns a sassy pony named Stella and a quirky off the track thoroughbred named Oliver. Oakley is extremely smart and can find her ball just about anywhere. Maui loves to be pet, but hates being picked up. Kylee’s favorite pastime is training and riding horses. She brought Stella from a green pony with no experience to a winning champion in any division in just one year.

Rebecca

Rebecca

Veterinary Technician’s Assistant

Growing up in Montgomery, AL, Rebecca can’t remember a time when she didn’t have at least one family pet, whether it be a frog or hamster, some bunnies, or traditional cats and dogs. Her upbringing fostered a deep love of animals and this passion, coupled with her fluency in Spanish, made her the perfect addition to The Animal Clinic’s team!

A native English speaker, Rebecca learned Spanish in school and spent three years in Mexico working as an English teacher. When she learned that The Animal Clinic was in need of a bilingual employee who could assist with interpretation, she jumped at the chance. Professionally, Rebecca loves playing with patients, helping them feel better, and making sure our Spanish-speaking clients always feel heard and understood.

Outside of the clinic, Rebecca has three cockatiels – Lemon, Lime, and Sinatra. Lime is the social one of the bunch and enjoys flying around the room as well as perching on ceiling fans. Lemon is a bit on the shy side and prefers to stay to himself and play with the bell toys in his cage. Sinatra recently turned six. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys ballroom dancing and has participated in several national competitions. She also likes poetry and creative non-fiction published by The Filibuster Literary and Arts Magazine.
