Fun Ways To Celebrate Happy Cat Month

September 1 2023

September is Happy Cat Month! Of course, we think that every month should be Happy Cat Month. Our feline pals deserve to be content at all times. While you don’t need a reason to pamper Fluffy, this is a purrfect time to show her some extra TLC. A local Montgomery, AL vet lists a few ways to get that motor going in this article.

Catnip Bubbles

Kitties that like catnip probably won’t really care what form they get their plant in, and Fluffy will be adorable to watch regardless of whether she’s batting a catnip mouse around or nibbling on actual catnip leaves. However, if you want to double the cute, offer your pet catnip-scented bubbles. This can also make for some adorable photos!

Remote-Controlled Toys

Fluffy should have plenty of toys she can play with alone, but she’ll have much more fun playing with a buddy. Interactive play is actually great for kitties, as it’s more challenging—and therefore more fun—for your furry pal if she can’t anticipate what her ‘prey’ is going to do next. Wand toys and laser pointers are great, but you may also want to try a remote-controlled plaything.

Window Seats

We can’t overstate how much better off Fluffy is as an indoor kitty. There’s almost no end to the list of hazards your fuzzy friend may face in the Great Outdoors. Cars, weather, toxic plants, chemicals, weather, wild animals, other cats, and, unfortunately, some people all pose a threat. That said, cats do enjoy watching birds and squirrels. Give your furry little voyeur the best of both worlds by offering her a comfortable window seat.

Purrniture

Kitty furniture is also a great choice. Fluffy can never have too many beds! Cat towers are also a sure hit. You don’t have to break the bank: you can go the DIY route, and upcycle a storage rack or stepladder. Just add boards for your feline buddy to lounge on, and then cover it in carpet or sisal rope. Voila!

Treats

Cats are known for being a bit finicky, but most of them do have a few favorite foods. Fluffy may enjoy some plain, boneless meat, fish, or chicken; shredded deli meat; canned tuna in water; or perhaps some sodium-free broth.

Love

At the end of the day, the best way to pamper your cat is simply to pay attention to her. Carve out some quality time with your feline friend!
